Unfortunately these are not free, but they are educational and engaging. Mobile Montessori has really terrific apps that look just like the real classroom materials. Edoki is subscription-based, but contains a huge variety of activities kids love, including Beginning Chinese. Montessorium is more basic, but has a an excellent cursive “sandpaper” letter app.
