“…in every child is the seed that will mature into an adult.”

– Dr. Maria Montessori

Parent-Infant-Child (PIC)

Parents are the First Teacher

Parents are the Child’s First Teacher

The Parent-Infant/Child class is designed to serve as a bridge – a support system between the child, the family and the school. The parent is the first and most important teacher for any child.

Fall and Spring Sessions

Available to parents and children under the age of 2 years, our Parent-Infant/Child class meets once weekly for 90 minutes. We offer a Fall session and a Spring session for parents of infants and young children to consider.

Parenting Support

In the Parent/Infant/Child class, support is available in multiple forms, including easily accessible information on child development and early learning, demonstrations of the Montessori approach and materials, and feedback on implementation. Parents have the opportunity to expand their observation skills and practice in our prepared Montessori environment, designed to call forth the young child’s developing capabilities.

Preparing the Environment

The task of the Montessori teacher is to prepare this enriching environment — for parent and for child — and then to facilitate the interaction of all members of the class with the environment and with each other. The Parent-Infant/Child Community is a place of caring and respect, growth and independence. Contact us to come experience a peaceful Montessori classroom with your little one today.
