Crystal Lake Montessori School

How to Apply

Are you interested in applying to our school? We look forward to meeting you and getting to know your child! These steps will walk you through the process.

1. Come See Our School

Schedule a tour or come to an Open House. Crystal Lake Montessori School invites prospective parents and families to tour while school is in session. Choosing a school for your child is an important decision. We want you to observe the classrooms, watch how children work with Montessori materials, ask questions, and get to know us first-hand. Tuition rates are provided during the tour. Contact us to set up a tour and get more details about enrollment.

2. Meet the Teachers and Try a Class

We want to get to know your child as well. For new Toddlers and Early Childhood starting the school year in the Fall, our teachers do home visits. The visit is an opportunity for your child to get to know their new teacher on their own turf, so to speak.

For Elementary students, we have an in-class visit to try out the school. Your child's classroom visit provides an opportunity for the teachers to get to know your child and provides your child with an opportunity to explore the environment and classroom materials.

3. Complete Your Application

The school will review your child's application and discuss the appropriate placement. Deposits and fees are required at this time to secure your child's space.

Prior to your child's start date, you will receive permissions and any remaining enrollment paperwork to be completed. All students must have the appropriate health forms on file in order to attend school.

4. Join the CLMS Family!

Find out what it means to be a part of our family. Join us on our Facebook and Parent Group sites to find out about events and learn more about who we are and what we have to offer!

Crystal Lake Montessori School welcomes all students and families and does not discriminate in its hiring, admissions process, or any other form of access. Crystal Lake Montessori admits students of any race, color, religion, national and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.

From The Director of Admissions

On behalf of our entire community of staff, teachers, parents, and children I thank you for your interest in our school! Choosing the right educational environment for your child is an important decision and we're here to provide you with information to help you through that process.

My passion for Montessori began over twenty years ago when I started searching for preschools for my son. I knew instantly that this was the beginning of a new way of learning, and I went on to become a Montessori teacher in Infant and Early Childhood. I’m always excited to meet with parents to share the benefits of an authentic Montessori education and discuss whether our school would be the right fit for your child and family.

I look forward to meeting you!
