Ms. Shank is a Crystal Lake native with a bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Art Education K-12 from Miami University of Ohio. I joined the CLMS community in 1995 as a mother/substitute while working as an international flight attendant for United Airlines, where she worked for 30 years.

Ms. Shank completed her Lower Elementary and Upper Elementary certification in 2006. She taught Upper Elementary for 7 years, then taught the Art program for 3 years. In 2016 Ms. Shank moved to California, then to Colorado for 3 years each, both substituting and teaching Early Childhood at Montessori schools.

In 2022, Ms. Shank decide there’s “no place like home” and returned to “retire” closer to family and friends, and happily, she now find herself back at CLMS as an Early Childhood teacher! Her interests include children, travel, and gardening. She currently lives in Dundee with her best friend Lilly, the magnificent mutt.
